This is a full-day tutorial (5-hours).
We will look at key automation, remote execution, and configuration management tools (Puppet, Salt, Ansible, Chef, etc), Version Control solutions, Continuous Integration and Deployment strategies as they relate to the various BSDs.
We’ll build out some configuration management and remote execution scripts and see what challenges we have running them on different systems. We’ll also look at the benefits of autonomous packaging and package delivery (pkgsrc and pkgng) and process/privilege isolation solutions in the context of “cloud” infrastructure and virtualization.
